The Maidens “Korai” have been defined “as bright apparitions in their ancient colors … as festive presences in the places of Abruzzo”. The great artist Franco Summa was the creator of this collection for Giovanni Simonetti. The Korai of Abruzzo refer to the Korai of ancient Greece, i.e. sculptures representing young women.

The Abruzzi Korai, therefore, represent the Abruzzi maidens who wore on their heads the basin full of water. Each pottery is made and decorated by hand according to the ancient craft tradition that has been handed down from father to son for centuries.

The series is composed of girls of different colors and shapes.
